First Day of School
Hard to believe Alex is a first grader and Joey is in kindergarten. How do I make the time stop going. Too big, too smart, too cute! I love my babies!
We've started a tradition with first day of school presents and they remember. They talked about it for 2 weeks prior.
Zhu Zhu pets seem to be the popular item right now.

Our First T-Ball Game
Alex and Joey are both on the same T-Ball team this year. This is Joey's first year and Alex's second. Saturday was our first game. It was so cute. Joey was very clueless at first. At one point, they both were sitting in the grass in the outfield during the game.

Alex wanted to be the catcher. She was not bad, just very... slow.

Emilee comes to visit / Emilee's birthday party
Emilee and Evin came to visit over the weekend. Poor kids didn't have a spring break. But we were glad they were able to visit anyway.

100th Day of School
Today is the 100th day of school and it is a big deal. (Previously moved from last week due to snow days). Every kid in the school does a 100th day project. This is Alex's:
Thanks to Uncle Tome and Aunt Diane who bought Alex 30 pair of earrings for Christmas, Alex was able to bring 100 earrings as her project. They are arranged in the shape of a 100. Joey's class did 100th day snack soup. Joey brought in 100 raisins.

Alex's 6th Birthday
We had Alex's birthday party on Saturday, the day before her birthday. She chose the Wetlands Institute which was definately a good choice in our opinion.

Taking a picture with her little brother Joey

The party started with pizza then a presentation on some of the wetlands creatures.

She talks about a sea star and they listen intently.
Alex kisses a horseshoe crab for 7 years good luck.
Old friends and new ones.

Time for cake.
Then to open presents. The kids were so funny. They kept moving closer and closer to her and Joey kept hollering, " I can't see! I can't see!"
It's hard to believe that my baby girl is 6. It seems like yesterday that we were blessed with her birth (well, not quite but time has flown). Everyday she amazes me. She recently expressed an interest in writing in cursive. She loves writing her name that way. She also can be the best big sister at times. She is very good to her brother and does lots of nice things for him and I love it. She is very smart and I love her personality. I need time to slow for a little while.

My Tap Dancing Princess
Tuesday, December 1, 2009
On sunday, Alex went to a birthday party for a girl at school. It was at Montego Bay's indoor waterpark in Wildwood. She was reluctant to go in the pool and was finally having a good time when another girl dunked her... twice. I wish I had seen it because I probably would have ripped that girl right out of the pool. I felt terrible. I should've been paying better attention. She was hysterical. It was horrible. She'll probably never want to go in the pool again.
She looked adorable!
She played alone after the incident. I told her we could leave but she didn't want to go until she got her cake and ice cream. But she was ruined. I wanted to choke that other kid but I refrained and said nothing. I should've talked to her mother. I am angry with myself but she's over it. Wish I could go back in time.
The Santa Express
We took a ride on Saturday to go to Joey's favorite place - The TRAIN MUSEUM! No suprise, right. Anyway, there is a train station, in working order, around the corner. It is rarely running so we usually just drive past to see the parked trains. On this particular occasion, the place was hopping. We stopped wondering what was going on. Just in time too. 5 minutes to departure and we buy the tickets. All the while not relizing this was the Santa Express. The kids and I lined up to board while Brodie bought the tickets. On our way past the cars, who do we see on the train? Santa Claus! OMG! We had no idea! Then I thought you probably had to buy tickets for that car to see Santa but that was not the case. He walked the whole train allowing every child to sit upon his lap. It was awesome. The best spontaneous trip we've ever taken for sure!

Joey starred out the window the majority of the trip...
... but definately not when we saw Santa. The were awesome! So glad we decided to take the ride!
You would think Joey would be a little happier but of course, his natural picture face.
Here's Joey breakin the rules.
At the train museum, they always run straight to the wooden trains.
Then he runs like a maniace from display to display. He's like a chicken with his head cut off. He never knows what he wants to see first. So he sees them all within minutes, then takes his time and sees them again. It's funny but nice to know he really enjoys it.
All of the layouts are fantastic. Pictures never do them any justice. We had a great day!
