Four Eyes

Joey got his very first pair of glasses today! He's definately going to be teased at school now. Probably not this year, maybe not next year, but almost definately 1st grade. He's four eyed and toothless now. He's still a little cutie! First words out his mouth when he put them on "Everything's BIIIGG!" Cute picture of Joey being silly.
Geeky picture of Joey.
Joey laying with Daddy. He is very good about wearing his glasses. He's only had them for 5 hours now but he's worn them for 4 1/2. He's my good boy!

Lost Tooth #2!

Alex finally lost her 2nd tooth! It only took over 6 weeks to fall out.

First Snow This Winter and Our First Snowman This Year

We woke up this morning and it was snowing. Joey immediately asks to go out and play. After finding our snow gloves, we head out. It was pretty early, no one even had breakfast.Brodie built the biggest snowman with a little help from Alex and Joey. The middle was so heavy, he had to use his tractor to lift it.Here, you can really see how big he is. This is Joey playing with his trains in the snow. Yes, he even has outside trains.

Alex wanted to have a snowball fight so we did. She hit me with this snowball. It was fun.

Ornaments with Mrs. Kobielnik's class

As homeroom parent for Joey's preschool class, I get to do a couple of extra fun things with the class that other parents don't get to do. The other day I went in and we made bead ornaments. Yes, I got this idea originally for Alex's class but it was easy enough for the preschooler's too. And cute. Here's Joey posing with his. I didn't take too many pictures in class because I was constantly helping the kids.
I am terrible at remembering these kids names. I don't know why but I am.
These boys were stragglers so I was able to get their picture.
The whole class. It was fun.

Alex's 6th Birthday

We had Alex's birthday party on Saturday, the day before her birthday. She chose the Wetlands Institute which was definately a good choice in our opinion. Alex in her new birthday dressTaking a picture with her little brother Joey

The party started with pizza then a presentation on some of the wetlands creatures.

She talks about a sea star and they listen intently.Alex kisses a horseshoe crab for 7 years good luck.Old friends and new ones. Tony sitting in the nest.
Morgan and HaleyTime for cake. Then to open presents. The kids were so funny. They kept moving closer and closer to her and Joey kept hollering, " I can't see! I can't see!"
It's hard to believe that my baby girl is 6. It seems like yesterday that we were blessed with her birth (well, not quite but time has flown). Everyday she amazes me. She recently expressed an interest in writing in cursive. She loves writing her name that way. She also can be the best big sister at times. She is very good to her brother and does lots of nice things for him and I love it. She is very smart and I love her personality. I need time to slow for a little while.

On sunday, Alex went to a birthday party for a girl at school. It was at Montego Bay's indoor waterpark in Wildwood. She was reluctant to go in the pool and was finally having a good time when another girl dunked her... twice. I wish I had seen it because I probably would have ripped that girl right out of the pool. I felt terrible. I should've been paying better attention. She was hysterical. It was horrible. She'll probably never want to go in the pool again. She looked adorable! She played alone after the incident. I told her we could leave but she didn't want to go until she got her cake and ice cream. But she was ruined. I wanted to choke that other kid but I refrained and said nothing. I should've talked to her mother. I am angry with myself but she's over it. Wish I could go back in time.

The Santa Express

We took a ride on Saturday to go to Joey's favorite place - The TRAIN MUSEUM! No suprise, right. Anyway, there is a train station, in working order, around the corner. It is rarely running so we usually just drive past to see the parked trains. On this particular occasion, the place was hopping. We stopped wondering what was going on. Just in time too. 5 minutes to departure and we buy the tickets. All the while not relizing this was the Santa Express. The kids and I lined up to board while Brodie bought the tickets. On our way past the cars, who do we see on the train? Santa Claus! OMG! We had no idea! Then I thought you probably had to buy tickets for that car to see Santa but that was not the case. He walked the whole train allowing every child to sit upon his lap. It was awesome. The best spontaneous trip we've ever taken for sure! The kids with the engine
Mr. Conductor punching Joey's ticket as Joey tells him what he wants to be when he grows up... a train conductor!
Alex getting her ticket punched
Joey starred out the window the majority of the trip...
... but definately not when we saw Santa. The were awesome! So glad we decided to take the ride!
You would think Joey would be a little happier but of course, his natural picture face. Here's Joey breakin the rules. At the train museum, they always run straight to the wooden trains. Then he runs like a maniace from display to display. He's like a chicken with his head cut off. He never knows what he wants to see first. So he sees them all within minutes, then takes his time and sees them again. It's funny but nice to know he really enjoys it.All of the layouts are fantastic. Pictures never do them any justice. We had a great day!
